Richard Spontak received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Penn State and UC Berkeley, respectively, and pursued post-doctoral studies at Cambridge University (UK) and the Institute for Energy Technology (Norway) before joining Procter & Gamble in 1990. In 1992, he transitioned to NC State University, where he is a Distinguished Professor. He has >300 peer-reviewed journal publications and >35 book chapters and invited works, and his research has been featured on 31 journal covers and cited about 15,000 times. He has received numerous honors including the ACS Chemistry of Thermoplastic Elastomers Award (Rubber), the ACS Roy W. Tess Award for Coatings (PMSE), the SPSJ International Award, the IOM3 Colwyn Medal and the SPE International Award. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, IOM3, and the ACS PMSE Division, and he is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences.

Wenxin Wang is Full Professor in Skin Research and Wound Healing, a Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Principal Investigator at the Charles Institute of Dermatology, School of Medicine, University College Dublin (UCD), and a member of UCD Academic Council. He won the highly prestigious “Young Scientist Prize in Regenerative Medicine” in 2010 at TERMIS-EU conference, the “SFI Principal Investigator award” in 2011 and the DEBRA Award for Excellent EB Patient Service in 2014, which highlight his work ethic and achievements. Prof. Wang’s scientific interests are in the areas of biomaterials, stem cell and gene therapy for the treatments of skin wounds, cartilage/bone regeneration, dental tissue regeneration, tissue sealant/adhesive. His scientific contribution and achievements have been recognized both nationally and internationally including over 210 peer-reviewed scientific journal papers (Nat. Commun., Nat. Rev. Chem., Sci. Adv., Angew. Chem., JACS, Chem. Sci. and Nano Letters etc.), 5 book chapters, 34 patents, 143 conference abstracts and presentations, and 114 invited lectures and keynote presentations. Since 2009 he has graduated 19 PhD students and mentored over 25 postdoctoral researchers. His achievements have gained the increased interest in the wider public community with publicity media activities (56 times in TV Documentary, Videos and Newspapers), for example in RTE-TV, ‘The Sunday Times’, ‘The Irish Times’, ‘Science Daily’ and ‘Chemistry World’. He has been awarded significant funding (ca. 11.57 million Euros) from different sources, e.g., SFI, Health Research Board (HRB), Irish Research Council (IRC), Enterprise Ireland (EI) and European Union (EU-FP7 & EU Horizon 2020) to support his research activities. Prof. Wang has acted as the symposium convener and chair, the member of organizing committees and the member of the conference advisory board for 32 international conferences and has been selected as an expert reviewer and panel member by 26 international research councils and funding bodies. As the founder, Prof Wang has launched 5 companies - Vornia Ltd (acquired by Ashland - a Fortune500 US company in Jan. 2018, renamed as Ashland Specialties Ireland), Blafar Ltd. Paulo C. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He has delivered more than 150 Invited Talks all over the World. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With nearly 500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than12,000 citations and 15 patents, he has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, and 2023-Research.com.

Prof. JUN F. (JAMES) LIANG became a Ph.D. in Biopolymers from NanKai University, Tianjin, China (1993). Since 2003, he has been associated with Department of Chemistry, Chemical Biology, and Biomedical Engineering Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, United States. Currently, Dr. Liang is a professor at Department of Chemistry, Chemical Biology, and Biomedical Engineering Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, United States. He has around 12 patents and 99 peer reviewed publications to his credit.

Dr. Elena Tatarova is a PI of Plasma Engineering Laboratory (PEL) of Institute of Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion with Habilitation in Physics at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, Lisbon Portugal. Her research interests include fundamental issues of Low-Temperature Plasma Physics, among others. She is currently involved in complex, experimental and theoretical investigations of microwave plasmas applications for production of hydrogen and novel pathways to fabricate carbon based 2D nanomaterials. Her work aims to clear up the correlations between unique plasma properties and plasma driven bottom-up self-organization of 2D nanostructures.

Prof. David W. Yarbrough is V. President of R&D Services, Inc. a testing and consulting company located in Watertown, TN. He is a Professor of Chemical Engineering, emeritus at Tennessee Technological University having retired in 2002 as Professor and Chair of Chemical Engineer, a retired Research Staff Member (part time) of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and a Fellow: the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the Tennessee Academy of Science, and the International Thermal Conductivity Conference. Yarbrough is a graduate of Georgia Tech (BChE 1960, MS 1961, PhD 1966). Research Interests: Chemical Thermodynamics, Materials for Energy Conservation, Numerical Modeling, Heat Transfer, Thermal Insulation.

Dr. Marc Marín has completed his PhD at the age of 34 years from Polytechnical University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain - Barcelona. Pavel Izák, Ph.D., DSc. was born in Prague in 1971. In 1996 he graduated from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague and at the same university he defended his PhD in 2002. I work at the Agricultural University of Krakow in the Department of Production and Energy Engineering and at the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin. I have a master's degree in physics, specializing in Biophysics. In 2011, I obtained a doctoral degree and in 2021, I obtained a habilitation degree and a job as a university professor. Shanmukaraj Devaraj obtained his Ph.D. (Physics) with a specialization on Solid State Ionics in 2008 from Pondicherry University, India after completing his master’s degree in Materials Science and Technology. In2006 he was a visiting fellow at the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic materials (ISEM),University of Wollongong, Australia working on the development of cathode and polymer composite electrolyte materials for lithium secondary batteries. In 2008 he joined as a CNRS Post-Doctoral fellow at LRCS, UPJV, France with Prof. Michel Armand (Inventor –Polymer electrolytes) and Prof. Jean Marie Tarascon (Director RS2E) on developing novel prelithiation techniques, electrolyte additives and composite buffer layers for Li metal anode protection. Since 2013 till date, he is working as a Senior Researcher/Scientist at CIC Energigune, Spain on the development of solid-state Li/Na metal Polymer Batteries and other post lithium battery technologies. His expertise includes Novel Polymer, Hybrid and liquid electrolytes for Li/Na batteries, Composite buffer layers for anode/cathode protection, SEI building additives and effective prelithiation techniques using sacrificial salts.

Dr. Xiaozhou Xin, assistant professor of Harbin Institute of Technology, is mainly focused on the mechanical behavior of 4D printed mechanical metamaterials, and has published 5 SCI articles in Advanced Functional Materials (IF=19.924, 2 articles) and other journals as the first author, and 5 patents. I am Marwa Eid Abdel Aziz, a researcher at Composite Materials Lab., Advanced Materials Division, Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI), Cairo, Egypt. I got my Ph.D. degree on February, 2020 from Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt. The primary focus of my Ph.D. thesis was Synthesis and Characterization of Polypropylene – Organoclay nanocomposites for food packaging applications. After I got the Ph.D., I had many opportunities to work as a member of research groups in a number of national and international research projects concerning metal and polymer composites. Now I am interested in Fabrication of Polymer Composite Membranes for Water treatment applications by electrospinning technique. Also, I am very much interested in the field of biodegradable polymer composites and their biomedical applications.

Dr. Hamed Peidayesh, Ph.D., a senior research scientist, graduated in polymer engineering in 2020 at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran. He is continuing his research as a researcher at the department of composite materials in the Polymer Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (Polymer Institute SAS), Slovakia. He mainly focuses on structure-property relationships of the bioplastic composites from renewable resources, rubbers, and electrically conductive polymeric composites.
