Vincent Collins Ofuka Njar, Ph.D. is the Distinguished University Professor of Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacology, at University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). He is also Head, Medicinal Chemistry Section, Center for Biomolecular Therapeutics (CBT). ProfessorNjar is a world leader in the field of small molecules discovery and development for the treatment of a variety of cancers. Professor Njar is an Internationally renowned Medicinal Chemist and Oncopharmacologist who has undoubtedly impacted many with his discoveries in the development of novel small molecules with potential for treatment of a variety of deadly cancers. Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 118; Google Scholar) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has served as a professor at Purdue (2000-2005), Brown (2005-2012), and Northeastern (2012-2021; serving as Chemical Engineering Department Chair from 2012 - 2019) Universities and has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health. He has proven expertise in small-molecule drug discovery and strong entrepreneurial skills supported by 25 years of practical and managerial experience in the European pharmaceutical, transatlantic biotech, and CRO industries. Throughout his career, Gerhard has worked on a wide range of different target classes in numerous disease areas. Gerhard’s expert knowledge in medicinal chemistry allowed him to establish novel design paradigms, proven by over 75 peer-reviewed publications. Prior to joining SpiroChem AG, he co-founded Gotham Therapeutics in New York, and Anavo Therapeutics in Heidelberg. Gerhard raised close to 100 Mio € venture capital for three different biotech companies. He held key positions at Mercachem, GPC Biotech, Axxima Pharmaceuticals, Glaxo, Bayer, and Organon. Gerhard received his PhD in organic chemistry from the Technical University of Munich, where he worked with Prof. Dr. Horst Kessler on anti-adhesive integrin antagonists.

JeanMichel Brunel was graduated from the School of Chemistry of Marseille (France) in 1991. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1994 from Université Aix Marseille in the field of asymmetricorganophosphorus chemistry. In 1994, he joined the group of Pr. H. B. Kagan (Université Paris Sud) as a postdoctoral fellow working on theenantioselective catalytic oxidation of sulfides. In 1997, hejoined the CNRS as Chargé de Recherche and is now working at MCT laboratory (UMR-MD1, INSERM, Membrane and Therapeutic Targets, Marseille, France) with a recognized expertise in medicinal organic chemistryas well as in the design and synthesis of original antibiotic adjuvants and antibacterial agents. He was the author of 210 publications and 25 patents.

Dr. Liao joined the University of California at Riverside as a founding faculty of the Bioengineering Department from the Scripps Research Institute, where he discovered the human sweet receptors and other novel GPCRs from the human genome. Dr. Liao’s research focuses on the development of novel quantitative FRET(qFRET) technology for basic and translational research,host–virus interaction, inflammation, diabetes. Before joining that, Dr. Liao joined the Genomic Institute of Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) as the Founding Scientist of the GPCR platform, where Dr. Liao led an HTS that resulted in the discovery of S1P1-specific agonist(SEW2871), subsequently leading to the FDA-approved drugs, ozanimod from BMS/Celgene/ Receptors and Gilenya/siponimod from Novartis. Dr. Liao was the first one to discover the orally available GLP1 small molecule agonist and the human SUMOylation E3 ligase PIAS family. Dr. Liao is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and his work has led to more than 60 publications and 30 patents.

Dr. Palmiro Poltronieri is a researcher of the National Research Council since 1999. He earned his Ph.D. in Biology from Lecce University in 1987, and obtained a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular biology and Pathology from Verona University, Faculty of Medicine, in 1995. He worked as postdoctoral fellow at Tsukuba University for 2 years, from1996 to the end of 1997. He worked for 21 years at Institute of Biotechnology and Agro food productions in Lecce. He has published over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles with over 2300 citations, many technical reports, and seven books as editor. He is a member of Japanese Society of Biochemistry. Dr. Mirjana B. Čolović, a senior research associate, has been employed at University of Belgrade, “Vinča” Institute of Nuclear Sciences-National Institute of the Republic of Serbia from 2005. Her research activities are in the field of enzymology, toxicology, biosensors, physiologically active compounds and their interactions with biomolecules. She published over 100 scientific contributions including 50 papers in impacted international journals, 4 chapters in books, 4 articles in national scientific journals, and over 70 abstracts in scientific meetings. Tarun Jha is the seniormost Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He has already supervised 20 Ph.D. students and is guiding 4 more for that. He also guided 6 post-doctoral fellows and completed 9 research projects. He has published 205 research articles and 28 book chapters as well as jointly edited two books. Prof. Jha is one of the Editorial Board Members of the journal ‘SAR and QSAR in Environmental Research’ published by Taylor and Francis. He is also serving as a reviewer of 26 internationally reputed journals. His research area includes design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of anticancer small molecules, especially inhibitors of zinc-dependent metalloenzymes.

Dr Tarek Mohamed Kamal Mohamed Metawie, Professor of Biochemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. Egyptian, date of birth 6/3/1955. Vladimir Zajac has completed his PhD. in 1982 at the Cancer Research Institute of Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava (Slovakia), where he worked as the Head of Department of Cancer Genetics from 1996 to 2010. He joined the Medical Faculty of the Comenius University as Associate Professor of Genetics in 2007. He has published 77 works, mostly in renowned journals, and is the author of chapters in four professional books. He is the editor of the book "Bacteria, Viruses and Parasites in the AIDS Process" (In Tech, 2011).

Dr. Yan Liang is currently working as a researcher, Professor and Director, at Institute of Tuberculosis Research, Senior Department of Tuberculosis, the 8th Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital, Beijing 100091, China. She received her Doctoral degree on Beijing Institute of Tuberculosis and Chest Cancer. Her publications reflect her research interests in M. tuberculosis DNA vaccine.

Abraham J. Domb is a Professor for Medicinal Chemistry and Biopolymers at the School of Pharmacy-Faculty of Medicine and Forensic Sciences at the Faculty of Law of The Hebrew University. He earned B.Sc. degrees in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Law; Diplomas in Business Management and Textile Science and a Ph.D. in chemistry from The Hebrew University. He did postdoctoral training at Syntex Research, MIT and Harvard University. During 1988-1991, he was R&D director at Nova Pharmaceuticals, Baltimore USA. Since 1991 he is a faculty member at The Hebrew university. During 2007-2012 he headed the Division of Forensic Science at the Israel Police. During 2014-2016 he served as President of College of Engineering. 2018-2021 he was the head of the School of Pharmacy of the Hebrew University. Since 2021 he is the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technology.
