Michael Retsky received a PhD in experimental physics from University of Chicago in 1974. His thesis project was to build a scanning transmission electron microscope that could resolve single atoms of silver, mercury and uranium and measure their elastic cross-sections. While doing electron optics research at Hewlett-Packard in 1982, a friend’s wife was diagnosed with cancer. This friend organized an informal research group to study cancer and possibly help his wife. Retsky got more interested in cancer research than physics research and gradually made a career change over a period of 5 years. He read every paper he could find. His first publication in oncology (Speer et al Cancer Research 1984) predicted that breast cancer growth included occasional periods of dormancy. This paper studied clinical data using computer simulation. Retsky later became Prof of Biology at University of Colorado, Visiting Prof at University of Texas (in Wm. McGuire’s laboratory) and on Judah Folkman’s staff at Harvard Medical School. He is now Honorary Associate Professor at University College London and on staff at Bio Innovations Institute in USA.

Brandon Lucke-Wold was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Neuroscience and distinction in honors from Baylor University. He completed his MD/PhD, Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research, and the Global Health Track at West Virginia University School of Medicine. His research focus was on traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical simulation, and stroke. At West Virginia University, he also served as a health coach for the Diabetes Prevention and Management program in Morgantown and Charleston, WV, which significantly improved health outcomes for participants. In addition to his research and public health projects, he is a co-founder of the biotechnology company Wright-Wold Scientific, the pharmaceutical company CTE cure, and was a science advocate on Capitol Hill through the Washington Fellow’s program.

Dr.Evanthia Diamanti-Kandarakis is emeritus professor of Internal Medicine & Endocrinology and Chairman of the Department of Εndocrinology & Diabetes Hygeia Hospital Athens. She received her MD from Medical School of Athens and her PhD in experimental Endocrinology on the effects of androgens in hypophysectomised rats, from the same University. Her training in Internal Medicine took place in England (1974-1980), and in Endocrinology- Diabetes, Metabolism & Obesity in USA (1980-1986). Her research interests have focused for the last 25 years on clinical, molecular and environmental aspects of metabolic & hormonal abnormalities in obesity Diabetes and Polycystic ovarian syndrome.Recently her scientific interest has included the environmental Endocrinology and specifically on the effects of Endocrine Disruptors in endocrinopathies. This work, has generated 190 publications with approx.. 24000 citations, classifying her among the 27 worldwide best Greek scientists and the first Greek woman endocrinologist among them. In 2016,2017&2018 she has received the 1st award of the best teacher in endocrinology in Greece, after undisclosed vote among young trainees endocrinologists in Greece. On 22 nd of May 2017 at the European Congress of Endocrinology in Lisbon, the European Society of Endocrinology, has awarded her with the<>for her outstanding contribution in the field of Endocrinolgy and Metabolism ,among 49 candidates from all European endocrinological societies. She is the inspirator and organizer of the monothematic and interactive training COMBO ENDO, international course which takes place yearly in Athens Greece. She is the author of several chapters and editor of 20 books of endocrinology.She currently is the editor of the following book published in 2021,2022 and 2023 : The applied endocrinology 2021,Environmental Endocrinologyand Endocrine Disruptors by Springer2023 and Polycystic ovarian syndrome by Elsevier 2022, which all have been released. Dr.Diamanti-Kandarakis has been invited by the international academic community as a speaker and Tutor and has given more than 250 lectures, literally around the globe ( Europe,Asia,Africa,North &South America).

Professor Ari Zimran was the Founder and the Director of the Gaucher Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel from 1990 to 2018, and is currently a senior physician at the Unit. This is the world’s largest referral centre for Gaucher disease (GD), where more than 900 patients have been followed, and nearly 400 patients are treated with enzyme replacement therapy. Professor Zimran developed his interest in GD during his fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute, Department of Molecular and Experimental Medicine, in La Jolla, California, USA under the mentorship of Professor Ernest Beutler. Professor Zimran has published more than 340 professional papers and reviews, and has edited three books; he has been a leader in clinical trials for new treatments for GD, including Cerezyme™, Zavesca™, VPRIV™, Elelyso™ and Cerdelga™ and Ambroxol . The Gaucher Unit is also currently engaged with 3 different gene therapy protocols. Professor Zimran was the first to report the possible association between GD and Parkinson (GBA-relaetd PD), and most recently he has founded a new company to conduct clinical trials aiming for the prevention and treatment of GBA-related PD and additional indications.

Dr. Somia Iqtadaris an accomplished physician serving in the capacity of Associate Professor of Medicine at King Edward Medical University Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Samuel Honorio is a full-time teacher at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco – Higher School of Education, Portugal. He is a member of the Sports and Well-Being Department and in SHERU (Sport, Health and Exercise Research Unit). He serves as an Adjunct Professor, has a Ph.D. in Sport Sciences, and a Post-doctorate graduation in Physical Activity and Health, with a specialty in exercise and health. He also has a Master's degree in Education Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in teaching physical activity. He is also an author and co-author of several books and articles in the field.

Prof. Gordana Pavlisa, MD, PhD is a specialist in internal medicine, subspecialist in pulmonology and intensive care medicine. She graduated School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1997. She is currently in the position of head of the Respiratory center in Clinic for Respiratory Diseases, University Hospital Centre Zagreb, Croatia. Marcus de Medeiros Matsushita, born on September 30, 1970, in the state of Paraná, Brazil. He graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in 1995, completed his medical residency in Pathology at the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2000, and obtained his Ph.D. in Pathology in 2004. He is currently a pathologist at the DB Diagnostics laboratory and a Pathology professor at the Professor Franco Montoro School of Medicine in Mogi-Guaçu, São Paulo.
