About GSBA-2020

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of TheScientistt, it is my pleasure to invite all great scientists, academics, young researchers, business delegates, students and more from all over the world to attend the “Global Summit onBiomaterials and Applications (GSBA-2020)”, will be held on October 26-27, 2020inValencia, Spain.

GSBA-2020 will discuss and invites all participants to submit abstracts on new biomaterial concepts, their modeling and simulation, biological and biomedical functions, and finally applications of novel bioinspired biomaterial designs.

One particular area of focus will be Conventional Healthcare at a Crisis: Are Biomaterials Helping or to Blame ?

Conventional healthcare goes like this: experience pain or discomfort, go to your primary healthcare physician, get a preliminary diagnosis, get referred to a specialist, get another diagnosis or confirmation of the previous diagnosis, receive a treatment (probably involving a drug prescription), and get follow-up treatments where your initial healthcare problem may have been solved or not.

There are many problems with this conventional approach to healthcare. First, it is not personalized. We now have numerous clinical data that one solution does not exist for every patient.  Conventional healthcare is also not proactive where many healthcare problems are diagnosed too late to do anything about it. Third, conventional healthcare is based almost entirely on pharmaceutical drug agents which have significant health side effects, and have led to more and more healthcare problems (such as the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, chemotherapeutic-resistant cancer cells, and the list goes on).

This conference will highlight revolutionary changes to our healthcare system that are needed, not incremental changes in biomaterial design and use that will simply retain our conventional healthcare system - a system that we are now seeing failing due to decreasing average life expectancies.

We invite you to attend this exciting scientific program comprising of 10 plenary and keynote talks, several invited talks, oral presentations, multiple poster sessions, sponsored luncheons, and networking events.

If you’re dreaming about your next trip to Europe: come and discover Valencia which is situated on the east coast of Spain and is the third-largest city of Spain after Barcelona and Madrid. Valencia is a historical city established as a Roman colony in 138BC. Valencia is on the bank of the Turia river and is also known as the largest historical center of Spain carrying about 420 acres of heritage sites with old monuments making it the most famous tourist destination in Spain. In 2016, UNESCO declared the city of Valencia as the intangible cultural heritage city.

Valencia is well known for its subtropical Mediterranean climate with a mild winter and long dry hot summer.
The average temperature of Valencia during day time is 23 °C and 3.8 °C during the night. During extreme weather, The  average daily temperature  in  October  is around 18°C, though temperatures can reach an average high of 23°C on warmer days. October evenings in Valencia are cooler, when temperatures drop to  lows of around 13°C.

I warmly welcome you to the beautiful city of Valencia for the upcoming Global Summit on Biomaterials and Applications during October 26-27, 2020. I hope to see you there !

Sincerely,
Thomas J. Webster
